Our Mission
Linden Volunteer Fire Department, Company 4, is a combination station in Warren County, Virginia. Our mission is to provide the utmost sense of security and well-being to our citizens, visitors, travelers, property owners, and businesses through programs aimed at education, fire suppression, and emergency medical services wherever and whenever needed. We pride ourselves in providing the very best services to the citizens of Linden and surrounding areas.
Areas of ServiceThe Department has one of the largest first due areas, which covers the communities of Apple Mountain Lake, Apple Mountain West, Apple Mountain South, Blue Mountain, Skyland Estates, Loch Linden, and High Knob. The Department also responds second due to the southern side of the Town of Front Royal. We also respond to incidents along Interstate 66. Additionally, we have a mutual aid agreement with Fauquier County, which enables us to respond to emergency incidents in Fauquier County, located only miles away from the Department. The Linden Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1990 by a local group of citizens concerned with the increased response time for service that was originally provided by the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Department on the eastern end of Warren County. The station originally opened in warehouse space graciously provided by a local business and through fundraising efforts and county appropriations, developed into the department that exists today. We began with hand-me-down equipment and gradually worked our way up to the apparatus we have today. We are now the third busiest station behind Co. 1 and Co. 10 that is staffed 24 hours a day by volunteers and county personnel.
